World Watch Report for 19-JUN-2025 - Odesa Burns, Trump Says Iran Decision, '2 Weeks'

Only small changes on the battlefield in Ukraine, with Russia pounding civilian targets in Odesa with drones. The White House mulls a nuclear strike against Iran, with Trump saying "two weeks."

We will continue to produce World-Watch Summaries for the foreseeable future due to the overwhelming amount of information we're synthesizing and a dramatic increase in the number of geopolitical and war/conflict events. The U.S. Protest Map will be running behind for at least a week, as we are reviewing over 1,500 videos and pictures from the weekend. This is on top of Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Iran.

It has been 1,212 days since Russia expanded its war of aggression against Ukraine. There were only minor changes to the line of conflict. We've entered a period of low information, with many Russian sources focusing on the Israel-Iran War and a noted increase in bot and troll activity in support of Iran.

Russian forces carried out another 176 assaults on the 19th. The 7-day moving average was 188. The VKS (Russian Aerospace Forces) carried out 55 airstrikes using 75 precision-guided munitions, and ground forces executed approximately 5,050 fire missions.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (GSAFU), Russia has suffered 1,009,330 casualties (KIA/WIA) since 24 February 2024.

After yesterday's more in-depth analysis, there is little to add or report. Russian forces have not reached the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, except for a few picture reports. The heaviest fighting continues in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk areas of operation (AO), where Russian advances have slowed significantly.

Russian sabotage and reconnaissance units (DRG) continue to create a challenging environment for the geospatial team. The gray zone south of Novopavlivka continues to expand due to claimed Russian advances by small units.

Once again, there is this awkward feeling of implying "nothing happened" despite significant fighting, and Russia engaged in an intense offensive operation. The other issue is because Russia is now using a considerable amount of light infantry for attacks, most of the videos we are reviewing are intensely gory and cannot be shared on public social media channels.

At the time of publication, there were reports of a drone attack in the Orenburg Oblast of Russia. There was no information on damage or casualties.

Russia offered to hold another round of face-to-face talks in Istanbul on 22 June and released its new conditions for peace, which remain unchanged from the previous conditions. Moscow demands that all Ukrainian forces withdraw from Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts, Kyiv to renounce NATO membership and adopt neutral status, Ukraine to hold elections, the lifting of Western sanctions, and the return of Russia's frozen assets. Moscow has repeatedly insisted that sanctions have been beneficial for its economy, yet require their removal.
